
Pastor McGowan has served as minister of Westminster since October 2020. He received a Bachelor of Science (religion) from Liberty University, summa cum laude, a Master of Arts from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology from the University of Glasgow. Prior to coming to Westminster, he served as an Assistant Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Huntsville, Alabama. Before that, he was an educator in Huntsville and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In addition to his ministry in the local church, Pastor McGowan serves at the presbytery level as chairman of the Examinations Committee of the Gulf Coast Presbytery. At the denominational level, he served on the Board of Trustees at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia (2022-2026). He is also active in the Tallahassee community currently serving on the Board of Directors at Christ Classical Academy.
Pastor McGowan is the author of two books, Infant Baptism: An Introductory Sprinkling for Parishioners and Psalms that Curse: A Brief Primer and co-author (with Rev. Zachary Garris and Dr. Stephen Wolfe) of Reformed Christian Politics and (with Rev. Zachary Garris) of a forthcoming two volume work, The Southern Presbyterians.
